What an awesome event! A lot of great news to talk about, but first I would like to thank the VCA, especially Steve, Windell, Kingman, Kim and Fiona at the VCA headquarters for giving us the opportunity to represent the VCA and Dodge. It was truly a great honor. I would also like to thank Chris Thompson and the New Mexico Viper Club. What a great bunch of guys!

Chris did a tremendous job planning, and executing the two day event. Special thanks goes to Cannon Air Force Base and Captains Wilkens "Duke" and ______ "Lag". Duke headed up the entire air show and Lag attended to our every need. Cannon AFB was very accommodating and we were all treated like "Royalty". Last, but not least, I would like to thank Albert "Ice Man" Choubler for doing a great job driving the car and for making it look so easy!

The event started Friday afternoon with practice runs. The runway at Cannon AFB is 10,000 feet long, but with cables on each end, it was shortened to around 6000 feet. The RSI Twin Turbo 1000 HP Viper was running speeds of over 195 mph in the mile. We tried to up the boost, but the tires kept blowing out. We are instructed to only run with the stock run flat street tires, so we had to settle for 11 pounds of boost. The tires were still spinning, but it was controllable.

Saturday was the day of the Air Show and the "Viper vs. Viper" was the last event of the day. When the event was announced over the loud speakers at 4:00 pm, the sight of 10,000 people converging to the fence by the side of the runway was incredible. This definitely stole the show!

The first F-16 jet ran through the 1/2 mile in Military Takeoff (no afterburner) and ran 23.7 seconds at 143 mph. The second F-16 heated things up with AB Takeoff (full afterburner) and he blew through the traps in 17.0 seconds at 167 mph. Now it was the Dodge Viper's turn.

When Albert left the line, the tires blew out badly causing unbelievable amounts of white smoke and the crowd absolutely loved it!! When Albert streaked across the finish line, we knew it was going to be close. When they announced we ran 16.9 at 185 mph, you would have thought we just won the Super Bowl after listening to the roars and applause from the crowd!

Thanks again for the support and hopefully we can do this again soon.
